No fine print games. Here's the whole process, exactly as it happens — including how pricing and price drops work, in the open.
The Process
Yoruba comes to your home and walks through what you want to sell, shooting one quick video. That video is how our team sees every item without you hauling, staging, or photographing anything. It costs nothing and commits you to nothing — and if your pile is too small for the service to make sense, he'll tell you straight and point you to selling it yourself.
Every item gets researched against recent sold prices for similar items — what things actually sold for, not what sellers are asking. You receive the full price list before anything goes live, and you can set a floor price (the lowest you'll accept) on any item.
Before a single listing goes up, we sign a simple one-page agreement: the 60/40 split (60% to you), the pricing and drop rules, the 45-day term, and payment within 3 business days of each sale. Nothing sells without the agreement signed. Either side can end it with a text or written notice.
We write the listings, post them on Facebook Marketplace and similar platforms, and answer every buyer message — the serious ones and the "is this still available?" crowd alike. Your phone stays quiet; buyers never get your number.
When an item sells, we schedule the pickup at your home at a time that works for you, and Yoruba or a Garage Gold rep is there. Buyers pay at pickup or before — items don't leave until they're paid for. Your items stay in your possession, at your home, until that moment.
Every sale is logged, and your 60% share is paid within 3 business days — cash or Zelle, whichever you chose in the agreement. We keep 40% for doing all of the work, and we earn it only when your items sell.
Pricing, Honestly
If an item gets no buyer inquiries for about 7 days, we lower the price by 10%, and we can repeat that weekly while it's listed. That's how online selling works — a stale price is a dead listing. Two protections for you:
Each item is listed for 45 days from the day it goes up. If it hasn't sold by then, it's still 100% yours — your call:
And remember: Garage Gold only makes money when your items sell. Our incentive is the same as yours — priced right, sold fast, no games.
